[GUIDE] Flashing your phone with a Custom Firmware

  Everyone Wants a Customized Phone and So many wants to have their phones loaded with many features which Nokia isn't able to provide and so we Mod the firmwares for you all to provide you a firmware with all the useful and loaded features but it isn't possible for each of you to flash your phone easily as it is a risky task and needs some guidance so here is a guide for all of the users .

Things Which we need During the Process :-

• Download the Navifirm from HERE
• Download The JAF tool along with Pkey From HERE 

The process Involve two parts, First first is teach us about the Phone software which We have to Download from Internet. (With the help of Navifirm or Directly By Googling)

 

Second Part, Involve about to Transfer the Downloaded software to the Phone and this proccess is oftenly called as Firware updation or Flashing

Now Take a Look on First Step, In Which we have to download the Firmware or Phone Software :

• Extract the Downloaded Navifirm on Desktop
• Open it Simply by Double Clicking on it

NOTE: If you are using windows xp or Lower version of windows then you must install the DotNetframework. Otherwise you will Get an Error message

• Select the Proper Option according to your Device inside the Navifirm.

 

Save the all Downloaded file on Desktop Inside a "New Folder"

Now Step One or First Step is Completed !!! We are Moving for Second Step.

1. Install Nokia OVI suite if you don't have it installed already (Cable Drivers Are installed with them and needed)
2. Now, The File which you Kept on Desktop inside "New Folder". Paste all the files to C:\Program Files\Nokia\phoenix\products\RM-XXX\
   (RM-XXX means RM of your phone . It may be RM-625, RM-428 etc. If your RM is RM-625; Then make the folder as 'RM-625') 

              (IF you have 64 bit OS then paste the files to C:\Program Files (X86)\Nokia\phoenix\products\RM-XXX\)
      
       3.  Now Extract Nokia Flash tools.rar and Install the JAF tool. After installing you will get 
          3 new Icons on your Desktop But Delete all these 3's icons.
     
     4.  Now copy the "Jaf_nok4models.ini" file and "Pkey_emulator...exe" file to C:\Program 
          Files\Odeon\JAF\ and make the shortcut of Pkey Emulator to your desktop.

A custom firmware mostly includes 3 files(ROFS2 , ROFS3 , UDA) if any of the file is not having the name like the original files of your firmware then rename them according to your original firmware.


  
     5.  Run pkey Emulator from desktop.

 

     6.  Click OK on the dialog that appears, then When J.A.F will start.

     7.  Go to 'bb5'tab

     8.  Make it look almost like the picture below
          (Tick - Manual Flash, Dead USB ) (Untick - 'CRT 308', Normal mode)

     

     9.  Tick 'USE INI' , Then a list will appear containing all phone models like the picture below

  

• Select The phone Which You want to flash and connect it to your pc after Switching it OFF. 
• Click on flash 
• Then Click YES when a dialog appears.
• Now Just press the Power Button on your phone a little (just for about 1 second)
• Flashing will start and will complete soon and you'll see a DONE msg in JAF window . 
• Now remove the phone and Take our battery and put it back and switch your phone On.

When your Flashing will Completed then "Local Mode" will be displayed on you Nokia Phone Display. Don't Be scare Its mean your Phone is Safe now

•    And Now you have a Customised Phone
